How green are you?

Nowdays is a fact that the environmental topic it’s a very important thing, because this days we can notice that the damages around the world; cause of our human irresponsibility, are unrepairable… But if people were consciousness of these damages and think very seriously about it, maybe we could do something for reduce it.
So I think… where people can learn about environmentally friendly practice? And the sad answer is that in not many places because people aren´t give the real important to the environmental care. But there are some schools that since children are in kindergarten they teach them environmentally friendly practice, some programs on T.V show some environmentally friendly practice too, but just a few, or people can learn about that practices on internet or in some website like Greenpeace.
In my case, I am very interesting in be an environmentally-friendly person, but I think that in this society if very difficult, for example when somebody have in their apartment recycle places, then the people that take the garbage away mix up all again.  Other problem is that I live in a very small apartment and I can’t do my own recycling things.
In relation with the horrible contamination here in Santiago, I prefer to use my legs for my transport, I can´t walk at my university but I do it at my work. So that way I avoid the public transport as much it´s possible for me.
Some months ago, my boyfriend and I joint to Greenpeace organization, so we could help them with some mensual money for the beautiful actions that they do around the world, for try helping the planet and all their creatures.  I believe that organizations like that are very important for the societies; they realize a lot of manifestations but television or newspaper almost never shows it, so people can´t know about it.
Sometimes I try to tell friends or other people that is very simple contribute with the environmental care, for example not all the people knows that when they eat chewing gum and they threw it away, that small chewing gum do a lot of damage because delay a lot in disintegrate it.
In relation with my carbon footprints, I haven´t do something, but I hope I could do it soon.
I hope that in Santiago, were the index of contaminations are very high, people that are in the power, do something about it, for example more laws about the environment care, some campaign for people learn about it, create more green areas, etc. And I would love that in school teachers teach about it too.

I never lose the illusion that someday everybody cares about the environment.

Animals as victims of human impact in nature

There`s a bird that I always like, and it is the "Arica Hummingbird", it is a beautiful bird and when I was in Arica in my Nona's house, there was always a beautiful hummingbird flying in her garden.

But now, I'm surprised because I read that the hummingbirds are endangered species because of bad agricultural management, they abuse of the insecticide and the lost and modification of their habitat, the agriculture workers replaces the original native vegetation for tomatoes and olives.

Like the hummingbirds are endangered species, there`s a lot of others animals with the same problem, and it’s all our fault, human race fault… Almost every powerful people that have business and company, didn’t care this species, they only care for their business no matter if they are killing species beyond the occupation of their natural habitat, that’s terrible. There`s a lot of public and privates constructions that affect the wild fauna, for example “Celulosa Arauco” and the problems that provoke to the black swans or for example the “Hidroaysén” project, that could make an attempt to the environment and a lot of their species.

I think that in Chile the dominant groups are doing NOTHING for the endangered species, there isn’t exist real law that protect this animals, exist some “Natural reserves” but in other places they doesn’t control the hauntings, the contaminations, and other things that directly attempt against the endangered species.

I found a very attractive notice in the newspaper, this news it’s for students, in this times there’s a lot of stress student because most of them almost have jobs and study at the same time, so in this news there are 10 very simple things that they can do for control their stress.

Similarities and differences on book-based movies

I always believe that books are much better than the book-based movies, because in most of de cases the directors change things that in the books are very important, or add things that in the book don’t appear. So, for that reason I prefer books.
But almost think that when people only see book-based movies and they like it, it’s no necessary that they read the books before, because there are a lot of people that don’t like reading and I respect that choice. But in some case, for example in school times, when was a reading test, I thought that was better read the book before a movie because in the books were details that sometimes didn’t appears in movies and that could be bad at the moment that someone do a reading test.
I think that for the esthetic and the effect of the movies it’s no necessary change things of the books, because that doesn’t has influence in the movie, I prefer watch I book-based movie more similar to the book than an spectacular movie with a lot of amazing effect.
I believe that when someone are a very fan of an specific books and then watch the movie, most of the time the movies doesn’t satisfy the expectations. For example, I was a harry potter’s books fan and I don’t like very much the movies, but like the word saying the movies are only “bases on books”, nothing more.

Music in times of Chilean Dictatorship

One of the most important manifestation’s ways in Chile at the dictatorship time, was the music; a lot of musicians used the music like a powerful tool to sing about the horrible things that happened in that time and for showed the unhappiness of the people.
But sadly that kinds of manifestations were persecuted by the military government because that’s manifestations could “open the eyes of the people” so that was dangerous for the government because that didn’t was conveniently for them, the want that nobody think or act against the government, that was forbidden.
One of the most horrible persecutions was when Victor Jara was tortured and killed. He was an amazing singer and he’s music transcended till our days, like others bands like “Sol y lluvia”, “Quilapayun”, “Los jaivas”, an others.

I think that Victor Jara’s music transcended because was made with a lot of feelings and powerful ideas and thoughts, he was a brave man, after all the repression he never keep silence, he never stopped show the reality beyond his music and still in this days everybody remember and listen Victor Jara’s music and remind that he was an amazing man, and also remind for no forget the horrible thing that happened in the past.
